STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2013 The Tarleton State University Women\u2019s Mentoring Network (WMN) is recognizing March as \u201cA Month of Research,\u201d highlighting the scholarship of its members on all of the Tarleton campuses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The theme for Women\u2019s History Month 2024, \u201cBreaking Barriers, Building a Better Tomorrow,\u201d resonates with the organization\u2019s mission to empower the next generation of leaders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWMN members\u2019 projects and research break barriers and help to build a better future,\u201d said Michele Hancock, a WMN executive board member. \u201cDuring the month, we will celebrate research and projects (https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/company\/womensmentoringnetwork<\/a>), further spreading the news about exciting developments at Tarleton State.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n Women\u2019s History Month provides an opportunity to recognize the achievements and resilience of women across the globe. Executive board member Dr. Nicole Hurless said the organization is thrilled to \u201cshine a spotlight on the incredible women who have made significant contributions to our society,\u201d and Dr. Rebecca Morrow, another executive board member, emphasized a desire to highlight Tarleton State scholars who are \u201cpaving the way with their research contributions.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n WMN members will head to the annual Texas Women in Higher Education (TWHE) conference in April. Over time, the group\u2019s conversations shifted to more general support, encouragement and mentoring. From those roots, TSU WMN was born in connection with the Texas Women in Higher Education and Texas A&M System goals to support those in the academy. TSU WMN was created in August 2019.
