{"id":50236,"date":"2024-02-23T08:00:01","date_gmt":"2024-02-23T14:00:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/news\/?p=50236"},"modified":"2024-02-22T14:25:10","modified_gmt":"2024-02-22T20:25:10","slug":"tarleton-state-eagle-mountain-saginaw-isd-renew-admission-scholarship-pact","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/news\/tarleton-state-eagle-mountain-saginaw-isd-renew-admission-scholarship-pact\/","title":{"rendered":"Tarleton State, Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD Renew Admission, Scholarship Pact"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District seniors in the top 50 percent of their graduating class will continue to earn automatic admission to Tarleton State University, thanks to a three-year renewal of the district\u2019s Distinguished High School Partners pact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of the program, Tarleton State also waives ACT (American College Test) or SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) requirements for students in the top half of their class and application fees for students who qualify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD and Tarleton State leaders cemented the renewal in October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cContinuing our partnership with Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD ensures that some of the brightest students in Texas have the opportunity for a high-quality university experience,\u201d said Tarleton State President Dr. James Hurley. \u201cThis partnership aligns with our commitment to be a first-choice institution for high school seniors in Texas.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIt is imperative that we partner with quality universities to provide the very best academic opportunities for our students,\u201d said Dr. Jim F. Chadwell, Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD Superintendent. \u201cThrough this collaboration with Tarleton State University, our students are provided pathways to receive an excellent post-secondary education. We appreciate Tarleton and hope to continue our partnership for years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The President\u2019s Guaranteed Scholarship Program assures first-time-in-college students graduating in the top half of their high school class between $500 and $4,000 in scholarships. Students graduating from one of Tarleton State\u2019s Distinguished High School Partners will receive an additional $500 or $1,000.
