{"id":50212,"date":"2024-02-20T08:00:03","date_gmt":"2024-02-20T14:00:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/news\/?p=50212"},"modified":"2024-02-16T16:24:48","modified_gmt":"2024-02-16T22:24:48","slug":"admission-scholarships-highlight-tarleton-state-spring-isd-agreement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/news\/admission-scholarships-highlight-tarleton-state-spring-isd-agreement\/","title":{"rendered":"Admission, Scholarships Highlight Tarleton State, Spring ISD Agreement"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Beginning with the Class of 2024, Spring Independent School District seniors in the top 50 percent of their graduating class will earn automatic admission to Tarleton State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of its Distinguished High School Partners program, Tarleton State also will waive ACT (American College Test) or SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) requirements for students in the top half of their class and application fees for students who qualify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spring ISD and Tarleton State leaders cemented the agreement in December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPartnering with Spring ISD ensures that some of the brightest students in Texas have the opportunity for a high-quality university experience,\u201d said Tarleton State President Dr. James Hurley. \u201cThis partnership aligns with our commitment to be a first-choice institution for high school seniors in Texas.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSpring ISD is thrilled to be entering into this exciting new partnership with Tarleton State University, offering a direct pathway to higher education for a greater number of our students,\u201d said Spring ISD Superintendent Dr. Lupita Hinojosa. \u201cThis collaboration not only offers an excellent pathway to higher education, but also opens doors to the valuable scholarships Tarleton State is offering exclusively to students who are eligible to enter through this program.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The President\u2019s Guaranteed Scholarship Program assures first-time-in-college students graduating in the top half of their high school class between $500 and $4,000 in scholarships. Students graduating from one of Tarleton State\u2019s Distinguished High School Partners will receive an additional $500 or $1,000.
