STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 The Tarleton State University Latin Jazz Ensemble presents its fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, in the auditorium of the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center in Stephenville. The event also features Tarleton State\u2019s Jazz Combo 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Admission is $10 for adults; $8 for seniors, children and faculty; and $5 for students with a Tarleton ID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The concert will showcase the rhythms and melodies of Afro-Cuban and Brazilian jazz, including \u201cMambo Influenciado\u201d and \u201cCalzada Del Cerro\u201d by Chuco Valdes, \u201cAfro Blue\u201d by Mongo Santamaria and Alvaro Carrillo\u2019s \u201cSabor a Mi.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Latin Jazz Ensemble consists of William Cazares on flute and alto saxophone, Devon Armstrong on tenor sax, Acacia Johnson on trombone, Mateo Rodriguez on piano, bassist Jackson Griffith and drummer Brody Custer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jazz Combo 1 will open the show with a funk-jazz fusion set including Thelonious Monk\u2019s \u201cBemsha Swing,\u201d \u201cChank\u201d and \u201cA Go Go\u201d by John Scofield, and The Meters composition \u201cEase Back.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Jazz Combo 1 comprises Nicholas Dorazil on alto saxophone, Mattias Piatt on tenor saxophone, Alan Gutierrez on trombone, Rodriguez on piano, Griffith on bass, and drummer Custer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
