STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 A health fair and speaker series headline Tarleton State\u2019s first Sexual Health Day event Thursday in the Barry B. Thompson Student Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Sexual Health Fair takes place 8:30-11 a.m. in TSC 27. Multiple vendors will be represented, including the AIDS Outreach Center, Texas Health Resources, Tarrant County Public Health, Student Counseling Services, and the Choices Clinic and Life Resource Center. Register here<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The speaker series follows in the same room with a keynote address and three presentations. Free lunch will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Registration<\/strong><\/a> is required. <\/p>\n\n\n\n For the speaker series, CEU credits will be available for healthcare professionals. Attendees will be entered into a drawing for gift cards and other giveaways. Learn more<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The initiative, supported by the College of Health and Clinical Professions; Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, Public Health and Nutrition Science; Erath Engaged and the Public Health Student Association, is part of the College of Health Science\u2019s commitment to promoting holistic well-being and ensuring the community remains educated and empowered on sexual health matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI am proud of Dr. (Subi) Gandhi\u2019<\/a>s and Dr. Ryou\u2019s commitment to the mission of our school and college to develop future healthcare advocates to serve our communities,\u201d said Dr. Matt Laurent, Dean of the School of Health and Clinical Professions. \u201cBeing able to work collaboratively with our community partners to provide these types of educational experiences for our students is part of what makes Tarleton a great place to learn.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n Under the leadership of Dr. Myoung Ryou, head of the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, Public Health and Nutrition Science, Tarleton State continues to contribute significantly to the healthcare sector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe aim of Sexual Health Day is to provide a forum for public discussion about healthy and respectful sexual relationships,\u201d Dr. Ryou said. \u201cI hope that by attracting more events like this, the Tarleton Public Health Program will continuously support our communities in Texas.\u201d The event is led by Dr. Subi Gandhi, Associate Professor of Public Health.
