STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 For the second year in a row, four Tarleton State University students are attending the annual conference hosted by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Held in Nashville on Oct. 13-17, the conference features top thought leaders, an extensive array of breakout sessions and networking opportunities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guest speakers include journalist and author David Epstein, Special Olympics Vice President Christy Weir, Amazon Senior PR Manager Barbara Agrait, and Michele Norris, former host of NPR\u2019s \u201cAll Things Considered\u201d and now a Washington Post columnist. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sessions are scheduled on crisis communications, Gen Z, activist PR, artificial intelligence\/ChatGPT and other timely topics. There will be career development exhibitions, roundtable discussions and fireside chats for PRSSA students.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tarleton State students attending are executive board members in the university chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) \u2014 President Lauryn Hammond, Vice President Bentley McArdle, Secretary Kaley Leatherwood and PR Director Alexa Guadian<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis conference allows us to meet other student chapters and professionals in the field to find best practices so we can implement learning opportunities into Tarleton\u2019s professional organization,\u201d said Hammond, who also attended last year\u2019s conference.Funding is provided by the College of Liberal and Fine Arts and the Department of Communication Studies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
