STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 <\/em>Beginning with the Class of 2023, Boerne Independent School District seniors in the top 50 percent of their graduating class will earn automatic admission to Tarleton State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of its Distinguished High School Partners program, Tarleton also will waive ACT (American College Test) or SAT (Scholastic Aptitude Test) requirements for students in the top half of their class and application fees for students who qualify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Boerne ISD and Tarleton leaders cemented the agreement in early February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re very excited to partner with Boerne ISD to ensure that some of the best and brightest students in Texas have the opportunity for a high-quality university experience,\u201d said Tarleton President James Hurley. \u201cThis partnership aligns with our commitment to become a first-choice institution for high school seniors in Texas.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tarleton is developing similar agreements with other school districts in the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are excited to partner with Tarleton State University, which will help benefit our students and their families,\u201d said Boerne Superintendent Thomas Price. \u201cTarleton has a rich history of academic and extracurricular success, and we\u2019re proud to work with university leaders to give our students the exciting opportunity to enroll and receive scholarships. We appreciate the support from Tarleton and look forward to our continued partnership.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The President\u2019s Guaranteed Scholarship Program assures first-time-in-college students graduating in the top half of their high school class between $500 and $4,000 in scholarships. Students graduating from one of Tarleton\u2019s Distinguished High School Partners will receive an additional $500 or $1,000. Admitted freshmen must submit a general scholarship application to determine eligibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
