STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Western musicians Miss Devon and the Outlaw, along with area poet Teresa Burleson, will headline Candles and Carols, a holiday event hosted at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, by the W.K. Gordon Museum and Research Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Attendees are urged to participate in the museum\u2019s Christmas Tree Extravaganza by voting for their favorite tree decorated by local businesses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The W.K. Gordon Museum and Research Center, a facility of Tarleton State University, is at 65258 Interstate 20, Exit 367, in Mingus and is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays-Saturdays and 1-4 p.m. Sundays. The combined museum and special collections library is located at the site of the Thurber ghost town. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Visitors enjoy interactive exhibits that explore the birth, operations and slow fade of the town owned by the Texas and Pacific Coal Co.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
