STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 The time of year for giving is here, and friends of Tarleton State University can join in on Giving Tuesday, Nov. 29, by donating to their favorite academic program, student activity or scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"GivingTuesday<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGenerosity has an amazing impact here at Tarleton,\u201d said university President James Hurley. \u201cGiving Tuesday shows just how much our friends and family believe in our students.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the fifth year for the university to get involved. Last year more than 165 donors gifted Tarleton programs almost $200,000. More than 100 scholarships and funds support Tarleton students in a variety of areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cTarleton students are some of the most hardworking in the country,\u201d said Shad Hanselman, Assistant Vice President for Advancement. \u201cIt\u2019s great to see the members of our community come together on Giving Tuesday to support them with gifts to scholarships, the Purple Pantry, and other unique programs that make Tarleton a premier institution.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 10 years the 24-hour event has grown into a global day of online philanthropy spanning 75 countries and hundreds more city and cause-based community campaigns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on analysis and national trends, an estimated $3.2 billion will be raised worldwide this year. <\/strong>That represents an18 percent increase, or $500 million, over 2021\u2019s record-breaking $2.7 billion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
