STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Area law enforcement agencies, including the Tarleton State University Police Department, will participate in a pair of two-day active shooter training response schools facilitated by Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Training will be Dec. 12 and 13 and Dec. 14 and 15 on the Tarleton campus. Officers from the Stephenville and Dublin police departments and the Erath County Sheriff\u2019s Office will join Tarleton PD at the sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ALERRT Center at Texas State University was created in 2002 as a partnership between Texas State University, the San Marcos Police Department and the Hays County Sheriff\u2019s Office to better prepare first responders. In 2013 the FBI named ALERRT at Texas State the National Standard in Active Shooter Response Training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since 2002 ALERRT at Texas State has been awarded more than $126 million in state and federal grant funding and has trained more than 248,000 law enforcement, fire, EMS and emergency management officials nationwide. Additionally, ALERRT instructors have trained more than 900,000 personnel in its Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) program.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
