STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Tarleton State University\u2019s Department of Performing Arts will present the Fort Worth Symphony, Cross Timbers Civic Chorale and University Singers in the annual Masterworks presentation at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Auditorium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tickets are $25 and available at the box office from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Dec. 3. Call 254-968-9634.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Expect a grand evening with more than 150 musical performers, among them featured student soloists Caitlin Hoffman, Jade Rudolph, Kylee Russell, Peyton Stevens and Regina Wright. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Fort Worth Symphony will join the Tarleton Choral Program and Cross Timbers Civic Chorale in a presentation of John Rutter\u2019s \u201cGloria.\u201d Tarleton Director of Choirs Dr. Troy Robertson will conduct. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He will be joined by Tarleton voice faculty Dr. Heather Hawk, soprano, and Dr. Iwao Asakura, baritone, who will perform two of the greatest melodies of all time, \u201cO Holy Night\u201d and the Bach-Gounod setting of \u201cAve Maria.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. J. Bradley Baker, pianist, will perform selections including Elgar\u2019s charming \u201cChristmas Greeting.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tarleton alumnus Zachary Steele will be highlighted as the choirs perform his setting of \u201cO Come, O Come Emmanuel\u201d entitled \u201cVeni, Emmanuel!\u201d Steele is the 2022 winner of the Texas Choral Directors Association\u2019s Emily Crocker Emerging Composer Award. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Other pieces will include excerpts from Benjamin Britten\u2019s \u201cA Ceremony of Carols,\u201d R.V. Williams\u2019 \u201cA Festival on Christmas Carols\u201d and \u201cHallelujah\u201d from Handel\u2019s Messiah.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
