STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014Vocalist Christian Bester will appear in a free guest recital at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Tarleton State University\u2019s Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Bester will be accompanied by pianist Brad Baker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Bester made his professional debut as Schaunard for Pro Musica Theater in South Africa in 2005. European performances include the role of Zaremba at the Americke Jaro Festival in the Czech Republic and as Papageno and Armed Man in Die Zauberflote<\/em> at the Amalfi Coast Festival in Italy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Other opera roles include Robert Schumann in Clara<\/em>; King Pellinore and King Arthur (understudy) in Camelot<\/em>; Don Giovanni and Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro<\/em>; Belcore in L\u2019elisir d\u2019amore<\/em>; Marcello in La Boheme<\/em>; Germont in La Traviata<\/em>; Aeneas in Dido and Aeneas<\/em>; Bob in The Old Maid and the Thief<\/em>; Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte<\/em>; Escamillo in Carmen<\/em>; Prince Popolescu in Countess Maritza<\/em>; Basil in Der Graf von Luxemburg<\/em>; and Gianni Schicchi and Dr. Malatesta in Don Pasquale<\/em>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Dr. Bester presented at the National Association of Teachers of Singing National Conference in Las Vegas and at the Sixth Asian Conference on Arts and Humanities in Japan, as well as at the Texoma Regional Conference.
