STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Tarleton State University\u2019s Department of Fine Arts and Theatre at Tarleton will present Agatha Christie\u2019s Murder on the Orient Express<\/em>, opening Tuesday, Sept. 20, in the theater of the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on Christie\u2019s 1934 novel, the play centers around a lavish trip through Europe that quickly develops into a race against time to solve the murder aboard a train of an American tycoon (senior theatre major Charlie Smith). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When an avalanche stops the Orient Express dead in its tracks, the world’s greatest detective \u2014 Hercule Poirot (senior theatre major John David Dvorak) \u2014 arrives to interrogate all passengers and search for clues before the killer can strike again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Theatre Associate Professor Carol Stavish directs the production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cast includes Tarleton students and Stephenville community members Tiffany Wynne, Madelynn Henson, Clay Luton, Toni Price, Benny Brown, Reyna Trujillo, Tommy Vest and Rolan Garcia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Working backstage are costume designer Andrea Alviar, lighting designer Kody Lewis and makeup designer Kyllie Avery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The curtain rises at 7:30 for nightly performances. The production runs through Saturday, Sept. 24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
