STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Two Tarleton State University staff members presented at the recent Anthology Togetherconference in Orlando, Fla. Higher education and technology professionals from every state and 12 countries gathered to leverage Anthology\u2019s technology and help prepare students to lead a global society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The presentation, by Dr. Elizabeth Wallace and Lathes Towns, addressed Tarleton\u2019s support of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board\u2019s 60x30Tx program and the new Texan Trail Transcript, renamed from Engage, a software product of conference sponsor Anthology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Wallace, Tarleton Assistant Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, chaired the pilot program, which she said helps prove the value of a Tarleton education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cUsing the Texan Trail Transcript, our students reflect on experiences they have had in college,\u201d she explained. \u201cThis document provides potential employers evidence of Tarleton students\u2019 skills in leadership, conflict resolution, networking, problem-solving and recognizing the value of diversity and inclusion.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Towns, Director of the Lance Zimmerman Department of Student Involvement and Family Relations, said the program meets a need. \u201cIt\u2019s not the transitioning that hurts us,\u201d she said, \u201cit\u2019s the standing still and being afraid to advance.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As Tarleton readies for the fall, students remain the university\u2019s top priority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTarleton decided to invest in creating the Texan Trail Transcript because it is a unique and organized way of tracking co-curricular engagement,\u201d said interim Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Diana Ortega-Feerick. \u201cIt enables Tarleton to effectively measure student involvement and empowers students to map out their own learning goals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
