STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Tarleton State University is one of just four public universities in Texas selected by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to contract with the National Institute for Student Success to resolve barriers to equity and college completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cTarleton has already developed a variety of programs to support undergraduate students,\u201d said Dr. Laurie Sharp, Assistant Vice President for Strategic Academic Initiatives. \u201cMany of these programs target specific subpopulations, including low-income and first-generation students. Partnering with NISS will strengthen Tarleton\u2019s student success programs and eliminate obstacles to college access, progression and completion.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through 2023, Tarleton will engage in an evidence-based diagnostic analysis with NISS to examine success efforts holistically and longitudinally using student-level and institutional-level data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tarleton also will engage in peer-to-peer cohort coaching with Sam Houston State University, Midwestern State University and the University of Houston-Downtown to share similar points of departures and challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
