Tarleton President James Hurley and Weatherford College President Tod Allen Farmer cement an innovative agreement creating a seamless pathway for WC students to complete an MBA at Tarleton.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday, March 8, 2022<\/p>\n\n\n\n

STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 An innovative agreement cemented this morning in Stephenville creates a seamless pathway for Weatherford College students to complete an MBA at Tarleton State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beginning with the fall 2022 semester, qualifying WC students earning a BAAS in organizational leadership and transferring to Tarleton will receive guaranteed admission and scholarships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis critical partnership raises a high tide for educational attainment and accessibility, making it easier for Weatherford College students to advance their degree at our College of Business,\u201d said Tarleton President James Hurley. \u201cWe want WC students to know they have an opportunity here that they won\u2019t find elsewhere.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Awards of $500-$1,500 will be divided between fall and spring semesters based on enrollment and will be renewable up to three years with satisfactory academic progress. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be enrolled at least half time to qualify. Application fees will be waived for those with demonstrated need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFor us to send some of our best and brightest to Tarleton bodes extremely well for our region,\u201d said Weatherford College President Tod Allen Farmer. \u201cMany of the industry titans in our area are both WC and Tarleton graduates.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A WC alumnus, Dr. Farmer earned his bachelor\u2019s in business administration and his master of education at Tarleton. He received his doctorate from the University of North Texas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cToday\u2019s signing is a dream come true for me,\u201d he said, \u201cfortifying our decades-long tie to Tarleton.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pact strengthens an agreement \u2014 the President\u2019s Guaranteed Scholarship Program for Transfer Students \u2014 the two institutions signed last year, boosting educational opportunities for qualifying WC students who transfer to Tarleton regardless of degree program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWeatherford College matters to us,\u201d Dr. Hurley said. \u201cHelping students in our own backyard is the right thing to do.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
