STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 The Tarleton State University Department of Fine Arts presents The Liar<\/em>, David Ives\u2019 hilarious 17th-century French farce April 5 \u2013 9 at the theater of the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center in Stephenville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The curtain rises each night at 7:30.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Tickets are $10 for adults; $8 for senior citizens, children, and faculty and staff; and $5 for Tarleton students. The box office is open 2 -6 p.m. Monday through Friday and one hour prior to show time each night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dorante is a charming young man newly arrived in 17th Century Paris, and he has but a single flaw: He cannot tell the truth. In quick succession he meets Cliton, a manservant who cannot tell a lie, and falls in love with Clarice, a charming young woman whom he unfortunately mistakes for her friend Lucrece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n What our hero regrettably does not know is that Clarice is secretly engaged to his best friend, Alcippe.
