{"id":45814,"date":"2022-04-13T12:25:00","date_gmt":"2022-04-13T18:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.tarleton.edu\/news\/?p=45814"},"modified":"2022-04-27T12:26:46","modified_gmt":"2022-04-27T18:26:46","slug":"coordinating-board-awards-tarleton-250k-grant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/news\/coordinating-board-awards-tarleton-250k-grant\/","title":{"rendered":"Coordinating Board Awards Tarleton $250k Grant"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wednesday, April 13, 2022<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has awarded Tarleton State University a $250,000 grant designed to help Texas college students access internship and apprenticeship opportunities to strengthen the workforce pipeline and advance the state\u2019s economic competitiveness<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTarleton\u2019s School of Kinesiology and College of Liberal and Fine Arts developed this project to expand their existing off-campus internships and remove financial barriers to internship participation,\u201d said Dr. Laurie Sharp, Assistant Vice President for Strategic Academic Initiatives. \u201cWe deeply appreciate this funding opportunity to support students who have been impacted by&nbsp;the pandemic.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The grant comes from $4.8 million in funding to 23 Texas higher education institutions.
