STEPHENVILLE, Texas \u2014 Tarleton State University was awarded a Bronze Seal last week from the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge for nonpartisan student voter participation in the 2020 presidential election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tarleton\u2019s voting rate was almost 59 percent, up 16 points from the 2016 election. At least 50 percent voter turnout is required to earn a Bronze Seal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are honored to receive this recognition,\u201d said university President James Hurley. \u201cIt reflects our institutional commitment to civic learning and demonstrates that Tarleton Texans care deeply about our country.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2020 presidential election engaged the largest and most diverse group of college students in U.S. history, with more than 840 institutions \u2014 enrolling close to nine million students \u2014 participating in the ALL IN Challenge. Awards were presented in a virtual ceremony Nov. 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
