FORT WORTH, Texas\u2014Tarleton State University hosts Latinas in Progress (LIP), the education series of the Hispanic Women\u2019s Network of Texas, and Girls Inc. of Tarrant County at its Fort Worth campus Friday, March 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

High school Latina seniors and members of Girls Inc. will spend the morning at Tarleton-Fort Worth on Camp Bowie Boulevard as part of efforts to encourage young women to achieve a higher education. Heather Hale and Emily Salinas, outreach specialists and Tarleton alumnae, will share stories of their educational achievements and personal successes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Hispanic Women\u2019s Network and Girls Inc. are longtime partner agencies with Tarleton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are excited to welcome LIP and Girls Inc. to Tarleton-Fort Worth,\u201d said Executive Director Phil Sudman. \u201cWe are a diverse academic community and strongly support opportunities and programs that encourage young women to pursue a university degree. At Tarleton, we offer more than a higher education. We provide the tools and resources that ensure success.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hispanic enrollment at all Tarleton locations, including its Global Campus, is up 23 percent for the current academic year, reaching 1,869 students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
