Students use the books to design literature-based lessons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are extremely grateful for the support of the community and thank everyone who\u2019s made a donation to Texan Hall Library,\u201d said Dr. Melissa Becker, professor and coordinator of Tarleton\u2019s Curriculum and Instruction Program. \u201cHaving so many books available at our Tarleton-Fort Worth home makes it easier for students to complete class assignments.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a title=\"Tarleton-Fort Worth\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/fortworth\/\">Tarleton-Fort Worth<\/a> is located in the Hickman Building at 6777 Camp Bowe Blvd., with a new campus planned along the Chisolm Trail Parkway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The growing children\u2019s literature collection includes Caldecott, Newberry and Coretta Scott King award-winning books. In addition to general children\u2019s literature, the collection includes poetry, history, biographical works and juvenile novels as well as books that promote disability and cultural awareness and help children cope with death, dying and divorce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Longstanding favorites include Shel Silverstein\u2019s \u201cThe Giving Tree\u201d and Maurice Sendak\u2019s \u201cWhere the Wild Things Are.\u201d Other books include &nbsp;\u201cA Year Down Under\u201d by Richard Peck, \u201cA Ball for Daisy\u201d by Chris Raschka and \u201cLon Po Po: A Red Riding Hood Story from China\u201d by Ed Young.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To donate new or gently-used books to Texan Hall Library, call Tarleton Librarian Lisa Wan at 817-717-3315.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tarleton, a member of The Texas A&amp;M University System, provides a student-focused, value-driven educational experience marked by academic innovation and exemplary service, and dedicated to transforming students into tomorrow\u2019s professional leaders.
