STEPHENVILLE, Texas\u2014Tarleton State University sets a record for total enrollment for the fifth year in a row with 13,063 students, an increase of 6 percent from last year and up 32 percent from 2011, based on the 12th\u00a0class day report.<\/p>\n
Record fall 2016 enrollment numbers continue to make Tarleton one of the fastest growing public universities in Texas.<\/p>\n
Enrollment for first-time-in-college students is the highest in university history with 2,169 students. Hispanic enrollment is up 14 percent with 2,388 students, and the university\u2019s doctoral program in educational leadership increases 13 percent with 137 students.<\/p>\n

Enrollment at Tarleton\u2019s Fort Worth location is up 7 percent with 1,843 students\u201421 percent of those are Hispanic and 13 percent black\u2014and 12th\u00a0<\/span>class day reports for Tarleton-Waco show a 5-percent increase with 1,036 students taking classes on the campus of McLennan Community College.
