Partnership Formed With Mexican State of Tabasco<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FORT WORTH, Texas\u2014The School of Criminology, Criminal Justice and Strategic Studies at Tarleton State University has partnered with the attorney general\u2019s office of the Mexican state of Tabasco to research and implement policies that enhance and strengthen current law enforcement practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIn concert with Mexico\u2019s New Criminal Justice System (Nuevo Sistema de Justicia Penal), this partnership creates opportunities to apply for grants to research, diagnose and share best practices for investigative techniques, analytical and predictive policing, forensic science and mediation,\u201d said Dr. Alex del Carmen, the School\u2019s executive director. \u201cWe are excited about the possibilities this partnership brings to Tarleton, the U.S and Mexico.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The state of Tabasco is located in southeast Mexico with the Gulf of Mexico to the north and the country of Guatemala to the south and east. It is the second largest oil producing state in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tarleton\u2019s criminology school offers bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees specializing in homeland security; cybercrime and international criminal justice; predictive and analytical policing; criminal justice leadership and public policy; and mediation, arbitration, legal studies and forensics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
