Temporary Pedestrian Traffic Changes<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wednesday, November 2, 20166<\/p>\n\n\n\n

STEPHENVILLE, Texas\u2014Primary pedestrian traffic routes along Vanderbilt Street within the Tarleton State University campus will change for the next four to six weeks as construction on the utility and infrastructure project progresses westward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three primary intersections will close during this time at the following locations:
\u2022 Neblett Avenue and Vanderbilt Street;
\u2022 Vanderbilt Street at the Barry B. Thompson Student Center; and
\u2022 Cain and Jones streets<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Detour signage will be placed at these locations to direct pedestrian traffic as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 Those entering campus from the northeast (near Bosque Crossing Apartments), please follow Jones Street west past Cain Street to the Dining Hall and Thompson Student Center.
\u2022 Those entering campus from the east, please follow McIlhaney Street south to Heritage Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The temporary street closures are part of a multi-phase, $25 million project to expand pedestrian walkways along Lillian, Vanderbilt and other campus core streets. At the same time, utility improvements will eliminate flooding and storm water drainage issues and enhance campus lighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Scheduled for completion in November 2017, the project will bring new beauty and aesthetics to the Tarleton campus, and improve safety for pedestrians within the campus core.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
