JSMS Names Associate Editor<\/p>\n

STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Dr. Randy McCamey, professor of human resource management at Tarleton State University, has been named an associate editor of The Journal of Social Media in Society (JSMS)<\/em>.<\/p>\n

A product of the Texas Social Media Research Institute (TSMRI), the peer-reviewed JSMS<\/em> launched its first issue in 2012. As interest in the journal continues to grow, associate editors like McCamey help handle the quantity of articles submitted each year.<\/p>\n

A faculty member in Tarleton’s College of Business Administration, McCamey teaches graduate courses in human resource management, human resource development, organizational development, and strategic human resources.<\/p>\n

He has more than 25 years of experience in business and industry as a consultant, coach and human resource specialist, with articles in Performance Improvement Quarterly, Hospital Topics<\/em> and The Journal of Management and Entrepreneurship.<\/em> His current research interests include employee engagement, workplace bullying and organizational justice.<\/p>\n

“Dr. McCamey has been a supporter of TSMRI and the journal since the beginning, and we are excited to have him as a member of our leadership team,” said Dr. Sarah Maben, JSMS<\/em> editor and assistant professor in Tarleton’s Department of Communication Studies.<\/p>\n

Prior to his new role with JSMS<\/em>, McCamey was one of the journal’s first reviewers and one of the first TSMRI research fellows.<\/p>\n

McCamey is a member of the U.S. Technical Advisory Group to ISO TC 260 in Human Resources, crafting international standards in knowledge management and also a global competency framework for human resource practitioners. Prior to his work with ISO, he participated in the development of a national standard in performance management with the American National Standards Institute. McCamey is a certified civil rights investigator, and he serves as president of the board of directors for Texas Neighborhood Services.<\/p>\n

A three-time Tarleton alumnus, McCamey earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, a master’s of education in guidance and counseling, and a master’s of business administration. He earned a doctorate from the University of North Texas in applied technology training and development.<\/p>\n

An open-access journal founded by Maben and Dr. Credence Baker, assistant dean of Tarleton’s College of Graduate Studies, JSMS<\/em> gives authors a place to publish research devoted to social media and mobile technology.<\/p>\n

Dr. Amber Harris-Bozer, assistant professor in Tarleton’s Department of Psychological Sciences, also serves JSMS<\/em> as an associate editor.<\/p>\n

The next issue of JSMS<\/em> publishes in May 2017 at http:\/\/thejsms.org<\/a>. The journal boasts more than 60 reviewers from institutions across the globe as well as Tarleton, with more than 300 manuscripts submitted since its beginning.<\/p>\n

JSMS<\/em> receives funding from TSMRI, Tarleton’s College of Liberal and Fine Arts, and the university’s College of Education.<\/p>\n
