Leach Selected Associate Dean of Research<\/p>\n

STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Dr. Lesley Leach has been selected associate dean of research and sponsored projects at Tarleton State University.<\/p>\n

Leach has served Tarleton as an associate professor of educational research since 2012, leading the university’s Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies for the last two years. As coordinator of Tarleton’s doctorate in educational leadership program, until 2015, she has chaired more than 20 student dissertation committees and served as research methodologist for many others.<\/p>\n

“Dr. Leach brings a vast amount of experience in practice, academia and leadership to her new role,” said Dr. Barry Lambert, associate vice president of research and dean of Tarleton’s College of Graduate Studies. “We are confident that her expertise will help us continue to strengthen our entire research portfolio.”<\/p>\n

Prior to joining Tarleton, Leach served as a research scientist at the Charles A. Dana Center at The University of Texas at Austin, leading a subgroup of the PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers) mathematics item development team, co-authoring federal and private grant proposals, and managing large educational datasets.<\/p>\n

“It is an honor to be selected associate dean of research and sponsored projects,” she said. “I look forward to serving the Tarleton community in further elevating the research profile of the university—an objective of the school’s 2020 strategic plan—acting as a resource for faculty and student researchers, and actively promoting internal and external funding opportunities.”<\/p>\n

Leach earned her bachelor’s degree in applied learning and development at The University of Texas at Austin and her master’s in instructional technology and doctorate in educational research at the University of North Texas.<\/p>\n
