STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Now powered by Handshake, Tarleton State University Career Services’ hiring system—Hire-A-Texan—is ready for students and alumni to access via their school email accounts.<\/p>\n
Currently more than 6 million students, 350 universities and 180,000 employers partner with the mobile-friendly Handshake platform that features personalized job recommendations.<\/p>\n
Students currently registered for classes at Tarleton already have a Handshake account and can claim it via an invitation sent to their university email account. Alumni also can use their Tarleton email to access the new system or request a Handshake account if they have a different email address.<\/p>\n
With Handshake’s online appointment system, students can set up meetings with Tarleton’s Career Services staff for help with resumes, job searches, social media profiles and e-portfolios.<\/p>\n
To schedule mock interviews, students should visit the following Career Services Center locations or call 254-968-9078:<\/p>\n
• Barry A. Thompson Student Center, Room 218, Stephenville;
• College of Business Administration, Room 185C, Stephenville;
• Lamar Johanson Science Building, Room 331, Stephenville;
• Hickman Building, Room 123B, Tarleton-Fort Worth, 6777 Camp Bowie Blvd.<\/p>\n
Business hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.<\/p>\n
