STEPHENVILLE, Texas—One magical presentation. Two performances. All designed and directed by Tarleton State University students.<\/p>\n
Theatre at Tarleton and the Young People Series presents The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe<\/em> on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Auditorium.<\/p>\n Performances take place at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The box office opens one hour before curtain time, and tickets are $3 per person. All seating is general admission.<\/p>\n The play is an adaptation of the classic novel by C.S. Lewis and is directed by senior theater major Jesus Rodriguez-Patlan.<\/p>\n “It’s a story many people have heard, but in a shorter form than the book,” he said. “It still features themes of courage, transformation and forgiveness.”<\/p>\n This enchanting play is based on Lewis’ adventure story about four children in war-torn England, who accidentally enter the land of Narnia by climbing through a magic wardrobe.<\/p>\n Narnia is ruled by the cold-hearted White Witch, played by Kimberly Bills, who makes winter last year-round. Although they seem unlikely saviors, the children—Peter, played by Chris Baldock; Susan, played by Kay Higgins, Lucy, played by Shiann Reese, and Edmund, played by Cain Michael Meadows—fulfill an ancient prophecy by defeating the witch.<\/p>\n Their victory restores sunshine and peace to the spell-bound Narnia and returns the great Lion King Aslan, Justin Fite, to his throne.<\/p>\n Other cast members are Curtis Price as Professor Kirke, Cedric Kimble-Thomas as Mr. Tumnus, Joy-Serene Adams as Fenris Ulf, Eric Tedana as Trumpkin, Caleb Badgley as Father Christmas, Hollie Miller as Mrs. Macready and Oscar Gonzalez and Abby Tucker as Mr. and Mrs. Beaver.<\/p>\n Tarleton, celebrating 100 years as founding member of The Texas A&M University System, provides a student-focused, value-driven educational experience marked by academic innovation and exemplary service, and dedicated to transforming students into tomorrow’s professional leaders.
