Tarleton Choral Program Presents<\/p>\n

STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Tarleton State University’s Choral Program presents its first concert of the fall semester, “Landmark: Songs of Life’s Journey,” on Thursday, Oct. 12, in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Theater.<\/p>\n

The 7:30 p.m. concert is open to the public. Tickets are $5, or free for Tarleton faculty, staff and students with a valid ID.<\/p>\n

Performances include the Select Women’s Choir, Texan Gentlemen, Texan Troubadours and Chamber Choir, all under the direction of Dr. Troy Robertson, Tarleton director of choirs.<\/p>\n

“This is the strongest start we’ve had in the six years I’ve been at Tarleton,” Robertson said. “We’re excited to show folks what we’ve been working on so hard for the last month and a half.”<\/p>\n

The theme of the concert traces life’s most important moments, from childhood to maturity, death, and beyond.<\/p>\n

The evening’s music includes the Scotch-Irish favorite “The Parting Glass,” the Estonian folk song “Lauliku lapsepõli,” Eric Whitacre’s “This Wedding,” men’s glee favorites “We Shall Walk Through the Valley in Peace” and “Vive L’Amour,” and two new works making their premiere, “We’ll Understand It All By and By” and “Since You’re Not Here.”<\/p>\n
