Gordon Center for Industrial History of Texas presents a frightfully entertaining evening just in time for Halloween with a free screening of the 1935 classic <em>Bride of Frankenstein<\/em> on Saturday, Oct. 28.<\/p>\n<p>Part of the ongoing Night at the Opera House series, the screening begins at 6:30 p.m. in the museum&rsquo;s theater in the historic ghost town of Thurber. Free refreshments will be served at intermission.<\/p>\n<p>Produced by Universal Pictures, the science-fiction horror film stars Boris Karloff as the Monster and is a sequel to the 1931 hit <em>Frankenstein,<\/em> rooted in the subplot of the original novel of the same name by Mary Shelley.<\/p>\n<p>Since its release, the film&rsquo;s reputation has grown, and it has been hailed as director James Whale&rsquo;s masterpiece. In 1998, the motion picture was added to the U.S. National Film Registry, deemed &ldquo;culturally, historically or aesthetically&rdquo; significant.<\/p>\n<p>Seating for the upcoming Night at the Opera House is limited. Gordon Center, a Tarleton museum and research facility, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays.
