STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Tarleton State University will close all campuses and facilities for winter break, beginning at noon on Friday, Dec. 22. Campuses and other operations will re-open for business on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018.<\/p>\n
Spring semester’s 16-week classes begin Tuesday, Jan. 16, and all residence halls re-open to students at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 13.<\/p>\n
Tarleton’s Department of Campus Life closed the following housing facilities at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 14: Hunewell, Hunewell Annex, Honors, Centennial, Legends, Legacy and Ferguson halls.<\/p>\n
Campus dining services close at noon Friday, Dec. 22, and are suspended until 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, when the dining hall re-opens for on-campus residents. All other dining locations, including the Barry B. Thompson Student Center’s Texan Star Food Court and Study Grounds Café in the Dick Smith Library resume normal operating hours on Monday, Jan. 15.<\/p>\n
The Tarleton Food Pantry will be available during the winter break with limited hours after closing at noon on Dec. 22, along with other campus closures. Patrons may visit the Food Pantry from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Jan. 3-10. Normal operations resume Jan. 11, with hours from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. For more information visit www.tarleton.edu\/foodpantry<\/a>.<\/p>\n The Barry B. Thompson Student Center will close its doors at 12 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, and re-open at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 3. The Tarleton Campus Bookstore inside the student center will close at noon on Dec. 22 and re-open Jan. 3 at 8 a.m.<\/p>\n The Dick Smith Library is closed from noon on Dec. 22 through Jan. 2. The library will resume interim hours on Jan. 3, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Normal semester hours will resume at 7 a.m. on Jan. 16.<\/p>\n Tarleton’s Recreational Sports Center and Campus Recreation Department will close at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 22, and re-open at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 2, operating on a modified schedule until Jan. 12, when normal hours resume. Holiday operating hours from Jan. 2 to 12, are 1-5 p.m. Sunday; 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.<\/p>\n The Rec Sports Center’s normal spring semester operating hours beginning Saturday, Jan. 13, are 1-11 p.m. Sunday; 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday; and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 15, the Rec Sports Center will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.<\/p>\n To view the Rec Sports calendar for hours during winter break, go to www.tarleton.edu\/recsports\/hoursofoperation.html<\/a>.<\/p>\n Several athletic events take place during the winter break, including home basketball games for the Tarleton Texans and TexAnns. The Texans host Queens (N.C.) at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30. Both the men’s and women’s teams will then host Angelo State on Thursday, Jan. 4, with the TexAnns taking the court at 5:30 p.m. followed by the Texans at 7:30 p.m. Both teams will again enjoy home court and host Texas A&M-Kingsville on Saturday, Jan. 6, with the TexAnns tipping off at 2 p.m. followed by the Texans at 4.
