Gordon Center"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE<br \/>Monday, March 19, 2018<\/p>\n<p>STEPHENVILLE, Texas&mdash;Celebrating April as National Poetry Month, Tarleton State University&rsquo;s W.K. Gordon Center for Industrial History of Texas is featuring the exhibition, &ldquo;Art and Industry&rdquo; consisting of local poetry and art based in the unique history of the Thurber area, beginning Saturday, March 24.<\/p>\n<p>The Gordon Center offers a glimpse into another time as visitors hear stories about life in Thurber from the residents themselves,&nbsp;explore exhibits featuring historic photos and artifacts,&nbsp;watch early film of Thurber residents at work and play and stroll past reconstructions of much of the original town.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors to the museum also have the opportunity to add their own poetic efforts to the exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>Admission is free to the exhibit, which lasts through April.<\/p>\n<p>The W.K. Gordon Center for Industrial History of Texas, a Tarleton museum and research facility located in the historic ghost town of Thurber, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays.
