Friends of the Dick Smith Library Present<\/p>\n

STEPHENVILLE, Texas—Spring has sprung, so it’s time for Dinner in the Stacks at Tarleton State University’s Dick Smith Library. The event takes place Saturday, April 14.<\/p>\n

Hosted by the Friends of the Dick Smith Library, the dinner features author Elaine Fields Smith, who will share from her book Ridin’ Ropin’ & Jumpin’ Over Cars: The Biography of Virginia Reger <\/em>– A True Rodeo Star.<\/p>\n

<\/em>Reger, now in her 90s, will attend the event.<\/p>\n

Based on decades of memorabilia and photographs, the book <\/em>is a unique biography. Using newspaper clippings, rodeo programs, letters and photos, it covers Reger’s life in rodeo.<\/p>\n

Appetizers are served at 6:30 p.m. followed by dinner at 7 and the evening’s program. Copies of Ridin, Ropin’ & Jumpin’ Over Cars: The Biography of Virginia Reger – A True Rodeo Star <\/em>will be available for sale and signing.<\/p>\n

Tickets for Dinner in the Stacks are available online at http:\/\/bit.ly\/XLQfFK<\/strong><\/a> or at the Dick Smith Library. Deadline to purchase tickets is noon, Wednesday, April 11. Cost for Friends of the Library is $20, while non-members pay $25.<\/p>\n

Established in 1990, the Friends of the Dick Smith Library is a volunteer organization dedicated to the support of the university’s library. The organization funds the acquisition of educational amenities that lie outside the library budget; sponsors discussions, lectures, book talks and other scholarly activities; and helps with endowments, bequests and other gifts to the library.<\/p>\n
