STEPHENVILLE, Texas —The Tarleton State University Wind Ensemble presents its spring concert, Future Legends<\/em>, at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, at the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Auditorium in Stephenville. <\/p>\n Admission is $5, or free with a Tarleton ID.<\/p>\n The program highlights up-and-coming performers and conductors, including winners of the Tarleton Wind Ensemble Concerto Competition, Ricardo Allen II and Akira Okamoto.<\/p>\n Allen is featured on the Concerto for Soprano Sax and Wind Ensemble<\/em> by John Mackey, and Okamoto as soloist on With Malice Toward None<\/em> by John Williams.<\/p>\n The concert features two guest conductors. Undergraduate Chad Wiley leads in a performance of Ignition<\/em> by Todd Stalter, and graduate conductor Chris Moix conducts the ensemble in a performance of American Overture<\/em> by Joseph Wilcox Jenkins.<\/p>\n Joining these future legends are Tarleton music faculty members Drs. Brian Walker and Ben Charles, conducting Ride in a Fast Machine<\/em> by John Adams and An American in Paris<\/em> by George Gershwin\/Brubaker, respectively.<\/p>\n Rounding out the program is The Upheaval <\/em>by David Pegel and First Suite in E-flat for Military Band<\/em> by Gustav Holst.
