Tarleton Ambassadors and Waco Diplomats<\/p>\n

STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State University Ambassadors President Morgan Heine presented a gift of $11,000 to the organization’s Core Values Scholarship today as part of the school’s annual Giving Day.<\/p>\n

The Ambassadors, along with the Diplomats — their Tarleton-Waco counterparts — hosted the presentation at an 11:30 a.m. event at the Welcome Center on the Stephenville campus.<\/p>\n

The donation represents profits from the annual sale of Homecoming T-shirts, which has enabled annual contributions to the scholarship established in 2015. <\/p>\n

With today’s donation, the Ambassadors surpassed the $10,000 scholarship endowment minimum. They now have their sights set on earning a spot in the prestigious John Tarleton Society by reaching the $25,000 fund-raising mark.<\/p>\n

“It is important to understand that an endowment is a particularly powerful act of service,” said Dr. Tod Allen Farmer, Tarleton’s chief of staff for the President’s Office. “It is a gift that keeps on giving for years to come. We truly appreciate the work our Ambassadors and Diplomats do to make this scholarship available to Tarleton Texans.”<\/p>\n

Ambassadors also presented individual gifts in purple piggy banks.<\/p>\n

Tarleton’s annual Giving Day challenges supporters, alumni and parents to pay it forward to the university’s students through donations to scholarships, programs and activities. Gifts can be made online at http:\/\/givingday.tarleton.edu<\/a> until midnight.<\/p>\n
