STEPHENVILLE, Texas —Tarleton State University’s W.K. Gordon Center for Industrial History of Texas presents the classic Western film Annie Oakley<\/em>at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, April 28, as part of its ongoing Night at the Opera House series.<\/p>\n

The movie, starring Barbara Stanwyck as the iconic sharp-shooter who eventually headlines Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show, was made in 1935 and directed by George Stevens.<\/p>\n

The film and refreshments are free, but seating is limited and reservations are recommended. Guests can reserve a spot via email at GordonCenter@tarleton.edu<\/a>, calling 254-968-1886 or online on the museum calendar at www.tarleton.edu\/gordoncenter<\/a>.<\/p>\n

<\/span>The W.K. Gordon Center for Industrial History of Texas, a Tarleton museum and research facility located in the historic ghost town of Thurber, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays. The center is located at Exit 367 on Interstate 20 between Fort Worth and Abilene.<\/p>\n
