Gets Hands-On at the Gordon Center<\/p>\n

STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State University’s W.K. Gordon Center for Industrial History of Texas hosts its second summer Discovery Day Wednesday, July 25.<\/p>\n

Children entering kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to the museum for hands-on science experiments, history and art.<\/p>\n

Gordon Center Discovery Day features two sessions — one at 10 a.m. to noon for kindergartners through second graders, and the other from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for third through fifth graders.<\/p>\n

The activity lineup features:
• An immigration art project;
• Homemade ice cream; and
• Science experiments using magnet slime.<\/p>\n

The event is free and parents are invited to join their kids for the day.<\/p>\n

The W.K. Gordon Center for Industrial History of Texas, a Tarleton museum and research facility located in the historic ghost town of Thurber, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays. The center is located at Exit 367 on Interstate 20 between Fort Worth and Abilene. <\/p>\n
