STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Beginning this fall, an online Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree program will prepare registered nurses for professional growth opportunities.<\/p>\n
Designed for RNs with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, the MSN provides a high-quality, affordable education and rigorous training in a convenient online format that can be completed in as little as 24 months. A top-tier, forward-thinking nursing faculty will prepare program graduates for careers in education or administration.<\/p>\n
The online MSN is pending approval by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents.<\/p>\n
Deadline for RNs to apply to Tarleton’s online MSN program is Aug. 5.<\/p>\n
“Tarleton wants to help RNs across Texas further their education in a way that works best for their busy lives,” said Tarleton Provost Karen Murray. “As a student-focused university, we are committed to finding ways to meet the needs of our diverse body of students.”<\/p>\n
The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects an employment growth rate of nearly 20 percent for medical and health services managers between now and 2026.<\/p>\n
“Many professional nurses rotate shifts and have unpredictable schedules, making classroom time nearly impossible,” said Dr. Jennifer Yeager, director of Tarleton’s graduate nursing program. “The online MSN provides the opportunity for them to further their careers and expand their earning potential.”<\/p>\n
Many courses will be eight-week sessions, allowing students to enroll in more than two classes a semester and complete their degrees quicker.<\/p>\n
