STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Beginning this fall, completion courses for Tarleton’s RN to BSN entry of its Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program will be available online, allowing registered nurses to take their careers to the next level without taking time away from work.<\/p>\n
“The need for high-quality nurses — driven by a critical shortage of health care professionals — makes it imperative that we provide innovative opportunities for education,” said Tarleton Provost Karen Murray. <\/p>\n
The RN to BSN entry is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and provides a high-quality, affordable and flexible opportunity for professional nurses to take their careers to the next level. <\/p>\n
Registered nurses with a two-year associate degree and current state licensure may apply. All non-nursing classroom requirements should be completed at the time of application.<\/p>\n
The online nursing completion courses are pending approval by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and The Texas A&M System Board of Regents.<\/p>\n
“A BSN allows nurses to have more responsibility, greater supervision and higher salaries than those with associate degrees,” said Dr. Mary Winton, interim head of Tarleton’s Department of Nursing. “An increase in nurses with a BSN will create a workforce poised to meet the complex challenges in the ever-changing health care arena.”<\/p>\n
