STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Fall theater productions at Tarleton State University feature a pair of well-known, classic works and a children’s all-time favorite.<\/p>\n
Theatre at Tarleton<\/a> begins its fall run with “A Streetcar Named Desire” by Tennessee Williams. The 1947 work runs from Tuesday, Sept. 25, through Saturday, Sept. 29.<\/p>\n “Streetcar” received the Pulitzer Prize for drama and is widely regarded as one of the finest plays of the 20th century.<\/p>\n The semester’s final production is Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” from Nov. 6 through 10.<\/p>\n The tragedy dramatizes the damaging physical and psychological effects of political ambition and is thought to have been first performed more than five centuries ago.<\/p>\n Both productions will be presented in the theater of the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center<\/a>. The curtain rises at 7:30 each evening. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for children, senior citizens and Tarleton faculty and staff, and $5 for students.<\/p>\n The annual Young People’s Series Performance features “Alice in Wonderland” on Saturday, Oct. 27, in the Fine Arts Center Auditorium. Performances are slated for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Admission is $3 per person and tickets go on sale one hour before each performance begins.
