Gordon Center Offers Free Admission<\/p>\n

STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Enjoy free admission to Tarleton’s W.K. Gordon Center for Industrial History of Texas on Saturday, Sept. 22, as part of Smithsonian magazine Museum Day.<\/p>\n

Museum Day celebrates the spirit of the Smithsonian Institution’s Washington, D.C.-based facilities, which offer free admission every day.<\/p>\n

This year’s Museum Day theme is Women Making History, and the Gordon Center will celebrate contributions women made throughout Thurber’s history. The museum also will offer hands-on activities and crafts for children with stations about science, history and art.<\/p>\n

Download a Museum Day ticket at www.smithsonianmag.com\/museumday<\/a>for two free passes to the W.K Gordon Center. Only one download per email address is permitted.<\/p>\n

The W.K. Gordon Center, a Tarleton museum and research facility located in the historic ghost town of Thurber, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays.
