Tarleton Wind Ensemble in Concert<\/p>\n

STEPHENVILLE, Texas — The Tarleton State University wind ensemble is set to continue its 2018-19 season with  “Inspirations” at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 12, in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center Auditorium.<\/p>\n

Tickets are $5 for adults and free for students with a valid Tarleton ID.<\/p>\n

Dedicated to “those who inspire us,” the event features guest soloists Dr. Brian Walker, Tarleton instructor of trumpet and associate professor of music, and his student Akira Okamoto, a senior music education major from Frisco. They will perform Kevin McKee’s Under Western Skies <\/em>for two trumpets and wind ensemble.<\/p>\n

Graduate assistant Chris Moix will guest conduct the ensemble with John Barnes Chance’s Elegy<\/em>. Other concert selections include Scott McAllister’s Popcopy<\/em>, a homage to 90’s pop culture, featuring the catchphrases “More Cowbell!” and “Serenity Now,” and British composer Gordon Jacob’s band classic An Original Suite<\/em>.<\/p>\n

This concert continues the Tarleton band program’s 100th anniversary. Dr. David Robinson directs. For more information, call Robinson at 254-968-5326.<\/p>\n
