Faulkenberry Appointed to Editorial Board<\/p>\n

STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Dr. Thomas J. Faulkenberry, assistant professor of psychological sciences and Faculty Research Fellow at Tarleton State University, has been appointed to the editorial board for the Journal of Numerical Cognition.<\/p>\n

<\/em>The Journal of Numerical Cognition<\/em>, the official journal of The Mathematical Cognition and Learning Society, provides a scholarly forum for the focused discussion of research into numerical cognition, aims to encompass all branches of mathematics, including spatial reasoning, and welcomes research for its quality, regardless of whether its origins are in cognitive psychology, education, anthropology or other disciplines.<\/p>\n

“The Journal <\/em>is proud to have assembled an exceptional group of researchers in the field, who bring a mix of experience and new ideas, current Journal <\/em>experience and also fresh faces, and a skill set that reflects the broad community of research that seeks to improve our understanding of mathematical behavior and numerical cognition,” said Editor in Chief John Towse, of Lancaster University (U.K.). “We have full confidence that they can help to identify and nurture the very best research ideas and research findings for publication in the Journal<\/em>.”<\/p>\n

With an international scope, the Journal’s <\/em>board is comprised of members from across North America and Europe.<\/p>\n

Faulkenberry joined the faculty of Tarleton’s Department of Psychological Sciences in 2013. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, a master’s in mathematics from Oklahoma State University and a doctorate in psychology from Texas A&M University-Commerce. As active researcher, he has published more than 20 papers on numerical cognition, mathematical modeling, the psychology of mathematics and Bayesian statistics.<\/p>\n
