{"id":27455,"date":"2019-02-13T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-02-13T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.tarleton.edu\/news\/tarleton-tcc-co-host-symposium-on-political-polarization\/"},"modified":"2021-11-12T01:11:17","modified_gmt":"2021-11-12T01:11:17","slug":"tarleton-tcc-co-host-symposium-on-political-polarization","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/news\/tarleton-tcc-co-host-symposium-on-political-polarization\/","title":{"rendered":"Tarleton, TCC co-host symposium on political polarization"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday, February 13, 2019<\/p>\n<p>STEPHENVILLE, Texas &mdash;Tarleton State University and the humanities division of Tarrant County College are teaming up for a second year to address political polarization.<\/p>\n<p>Set for Thursday, Feb. 21, the symposium features four sessions led by academic presenters and a lunchtime discussion with members of the Fort Worth media, including Bud Kennedy and Cynthia Allen of the&nbsp;<em>Fort Worth Star-Telegram&nbsp;<\/em>and&nbsp;Anthony Mariani of&nbsp;<em>Fort Worth Weekly<\/em>. Harvard Kennedy School professor Thomas Patterson will deliver a keynote lecture that evening.<\/p>\n<p>The symposium takes place at TCC Trinity River, 300 Trinity Campus Circle, in downtown Fort Worth. He is also author of&nbsp;<em>Mass Media Election: How Americans Choose Their President<\/em>,&nbsp;and two American government texts:&nbsp;<em>The American Democracy&nbsp;<\/em>and&nbsp;<em>We the People<\/em>.
