STEPHENVILLE, Texas —Tarleton State University professor Dr. Ryan Foster has been named president-elect of the Association for Spiritual, Ethical and Religious Values in Counseling (ASERVIC), a national division of the American Counseling Association.<\/p>\n
Foster, an assistant professor and clinic coordinator in the department of counseling at Tarleton in Waco, will begin serving a three-year term as president-elect in July, then become president of the organization a year later. He has served as a board member for ASERVIC since 2013. He also co-chaired the 2018 national conference in Dallas.<\/p>\n
“I am deeply honored to have been elected to this position with ASERVIC,” Foster said. “I believe in servant leadership, and this is one way I can give back to a profession that has given so much meaning to me.”<\/p>\n
ASERVIC is devoted to professionals who believe that spiritual, ethical, religious and other human values are essential to a person’s full development and to the discipline of counseling.<\/p>\n
It is the second largest division of the American Counseling Association, with a mission to help counselors, supervisors, counselor educators and counseling students competently integrate spiritual, ethical and religious values into their work with clients.<\/p>\n
