STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Tarleton State University’s Jazz Ensemble 2 and the Faculty Jazz Combo take center stage in concert Wednesday, Oct. 9, in the auditorium of the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center in Stephenville.<\/p>\n
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5. Tarleton students, faculty and staff get in free with ID. The box office opens one hour before the concert.<\/p>\n
Jazz Ensemble 2 will play Sway, The Chicken, Groovin’ Hard, <\/em>and other selections. The band is directed by Tom Burchill, new faculty member in the Tarleton Jazz Studies Program.<\/p>\n Members of the newly formed Tarleton Faculty Jazz Combo are Andrew Stonerock on saxophone, Tom Burchill on guitar, Wayne Atchley on bass and Fort Worth drummer Duanne Durrett.<\/p>\n Their program will feature jazz standards in a variety of styles.<\/p>\n Tarleton, founding member of The Texas A&M University System, provides a student-focused, value-driven education marked by academic innovation and a dedication to transform today’s scholars into tomorrow’s leaders.
