STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Renowned Japanese trumpeter Kana Madarame is coming to Tarleton State University’s Clyde H. Wells Fine Art Center Theater Tuesday, Oct. 22, for an exclusive performance.<\/p>\n
Presented by the Department of Fine Arts with support of the ULTRA Club, Madarame, the star of “Project KANA-Harmonize with Infinity,” alongside her pianist, Tatsuya Ito, will perform music by Japanese composers in a traditional Japanese setting.<\/p>\n
Admission to the 7:30 p.m. concert is free. Everyone is invited.<\/p>\n
“We are very excited to host world-class performer Kana Madarame,” said Dr. Brian Walker, associate professor of trumpet at Tarleton. “Her flawless technique and exquisite sound will be the highlight of an exciting evening of music.”<\/p>\n
Born in Mito, Ibaraki, Japan, Madarame holds an undergraduate degree from Tokyo Gakugei University and a graduate degree from Tokyo National University of Fine Arts. Active as both performer and teacher, she performs as the principal cornet of the Japan Ladies’ Brass and Tokyo Brass Society.<\/p>\n
