{"id":26798,"date":"2019-10-23T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-10-23T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.tarleton.edu\/news\/tarleton-upward-bound-begins-2019-recruiting\/"},"modified":"2025-10-07T09:49:26","modified_gmt":"2025-10-07T14:49:26","slug":"tarleton-upward-bound-begins-2019-recruiting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tarleton.edu\/news\/tarleton-upward-bound-begins-2019-recruiting\/","title":{"rendered":"Tarleton Upward Bound begins 2019 recruiting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE<\/p>\n<p>Wednesday, October 23, 2019<\/p>\n<p>STEPHENVILLE, Texas &mdash; The Upward Bound Program at Tarleton State University is accepting applications from area high school students who are eligible for and interested in participating in a college preparatory program.<\/p>\n<p>To be eligible for Upward Bound, students must be in the ninth or 10<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;grade and attend Stephenville, Lingleville, Huckabay, Dublin, De Leon, Comanche, Gustine or Iredell high schools. Students also must be potential first-generation college students or meet program income guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>Program services include tutoring, academic advising, cultural enrichment activities and overall assistance needed to promote success at the high school level.
