STEPHENVILLE, Texas — A pair of Tarleton State University faculty members will present “The Sinatra Legacy: A Lecture and Concert” Saturday, March 21, at the annual Dinner in the Stacks at Dick Smith Library on the Stephenville campus.<\/p>\n

Appetizers will be served at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 and the show afterward.<\/p>\n

The event, presented by the Friends of the Library, features Ed Tober, assistant professor of English, and Deanna Erxleben, adjunct professor of music\/voice.<\/p>\n

The presentation traces the progression of Sinatra’s six-decade career from popular vocalist to American icon. The lecture segments analyze Sinatra’s career as an artifact of 20th century American culture, while the concert portions highlight Sinatra’s innovations in musical performance and production.<\/p>\n

Tober and Erxleben will offer renditions of Sinatra classics such as “Under My Skin,” “Come Fly with Me,” “Almost Like Being in Love,” and many more.<\/p>\n

Tickets are $20 for members and $25 for non-members and may be ordered at http:\/\/tarletonstate.us\/library-dinner<\/a> or at the Dick Smith Library. Deadline to get tickets is March 19.<\/p>\n
