Many of the students who transfer will be the first in their family to earn a bachelor’s degree. They’re forging a path for generations to come.”

Transfer students must be admitted, have 30 credit hours and submit general scholarship and financial aid applications to determine T-GAP eligibility. Awards, ranging from $250 to $1,500 per year, will be based on GPA and part-time to full-time status. They will be renewable for up to three years with satisfactory academic progress.

“If we educate students in the region, they will stay in the region, and the region will prosper,” Dr. Hurley said. “While available to all qualifying college transfer students, T-GAP is designed to assist and retain the brightest students in Texas. They are destined to be our leaders, and we have a social and economic responsibility to invest in their future.”

T-GAP is an extension of Tarleton’s ongoing Guaranteed Award Program (GAP) for high school seniors who graduate in the top 25 percent of their class. Similar to GAP’s supplemental partnership program for ISDs, T-GAP comes with an opportunity for two-year colleges to become Distinguished College Partners and enhance guaranteed scholarship levels.

For more information on T-GAP, go to www.tarleton.edu/becomeatexan/Transfer-GAP.html.

Tarleton, founding member of The Texas A&M University System, provides a student-focused, value-driven education marked by academic innovation and a dedication to transform today’s scholars into tomorrow’s leaders.
